LC International Limited

LC International Limited is the name most British bettors never choose but often see. It is the company that shows up on your bank statement after a deposit at Gala, Foxy Bingo, PartyCasino or bwin, and the licensee printed in the small text at the foot of those sites. It is not a games studio, and it is not a consumer brand of its own. It is the Gibraltar-registered company, part of Entain plc, that holds the UK gambling licence those brands trade under.

This page sets out what LC International Limited actually does, which sites sit beneath it, and how to read its record on the public register, so the name on your statement stops being a mystery.

What the Gambling Commission register shows

On the Gambling Commission public register, LC International Limited is account number 54743, with a head office at Suite 6, Atlantic Suites, Gibraltar. The account carries six remote licences, all active since 1 July 2019 and still listed as active: remote casino, remote bingo, remote general betting on both real and virtual events, remote pool betting, and a remote betting intermediary licence. That spread is the reason one company can stand behind a slots site, a bingo room and a sportsbook at the same time.

The 2019 date matters. It is when Entain, then still called GVC Holdings, moved its UK online brands onto this single Gibraltar licence rather than running each on separate paperwork. If you want to check the current status yourself, the entry sits under the UK Gambling Commission and is searchable by that account number.

The brands that trade under it

The register lists sixteen active trading names on account 54743, which is the clearest picture of what the company runs. They include Gala, Gala Bingo, Gala Casino, Gala Spins, Foxy Bingo, Foxy Games, PartyCasino, PartyPoker, bwin, Sportingbet and Gamebookers, plus the group’s two big high-street sportsbook names, with Cheeky Bingo and Party Sports shown as inactive. Gala and Foxy are why LC International casinos and bingo rooms are as visible in the bingo market as the group is in sports betting.

These brands come from two different histories, which is the interesting part. The bingo and high-street names arrived through a 2016 merger of two of Britain’s biggest bookmakers. bwin, PartyPoker and PartyCasino came from bwin.party, the operator GVC bought that same year. LC International is where both sets landed once GVC pulled its regulated UK online operations under one roof.

Where it sits in the Entain group

The corporate chain above LC International is short but busy. GVC Holdings bought the merged high-street group in 2018 for about 4 billion pounds, which made it Britain’s largest bookmaker by shop count. GVC then renamed itself Entain plc on 9 December 2020, part of a move toward regulated markets. LC International Limited is one of the operating subsidiaries inside that group, alongside the older GVC Holdings entity that still turns up in some records. Entain is the listed parent traded in London; LC International is the specific licence holder and payment processor for the UK online brands, which is why its name, not Entain’s, is the one that reaches your bank.

The 2022 Gambling Commission settlement

LC International has a compliance history worth knowing before you use any brand under it. In August 2022 the Gambling Commission agreed a 17 million pound settlement with Entain, the largest enforcement outcome the regulator had reached at that point. Of that, 14 million pounds was for social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures at LC International specifically, covering thirteen of its websites, foxybingo.com among them. The remaining 3 million related to the group’s high-street shops. The regulator found the online business had let customers open accounts across several brands to sidestep restrictions, and had allowed large deposits before proper source-of-funds checks. The settlement came with added licence conditions and an independent audit of the company’s compliance. It is a real mark on the record, though the same episode is also why several of those controls were tightened afterwards.

It licenses games, it does not make them

LC International does not develop slots or live tables. The games on its brands are licensed in from outside studios and run on Entain’s own platform. Live dealer content on its casino brands comes largely from Evolution, and the slot libraries include titles from NetEnt, among others. The operating company handles the licence, the accounts and the payments, while the game content comes from the studios you would recognise from plenty of other sites.

How we read an operating company like this

When we look at a licence holder rather than a single site, we weigh what is on the public register, the regulator’s enforcement record and the corporate structure above it, not the promotions on any one brand. LC International reads as a substantial, long-established licensee inside a London-listed group, with the disclosure that listing brings, set against a documented 2022 penalty that is fair to factor in. For a player the practical point is simpler: the name on your statement is the licensed operator of record, and its details, account 54743 included, are there to be checked.

What is LC International Limited on my bank statement?

It is the Gibraltar-registered company inside the Entain group that holds the UK licence and processes payments for Entain's online brands. A deposit or withdrawal at Gala, Foxy Bingo, PartyCasino or bwin shows as LC International Limited rather than the brand name, because that company is the licensed operator of record.

Which gambling brands does LC International Limited operate?

The UK Gambling Commission register lists sixteen active trading names on its account, including Gala, Gala Bingo, Gala Casino, Gala Spins, Foxy Bingo, Foxy Games, PartyCasino, PartyPoker, bwin, Sportingbet and Gamebookers, alongside the group's two main high-street sportsbook brands. Cheeky Bingo and Party Sports are listed as inactive.

Is LC International Limited licensed in the UK?

Yes. It holds UK Gambling Commission account number 54743, with six remote licences (casino, bingo, general betting on real and virtual events, pool betting and betting intermediary) that have been active since 1 July 2019 and are still listed as active. Its head office is in Gibraltar.

Is LC International Limited the same as Entain?

No, but it is part of Entain. LC International Limited is an operating subsidiary of Entain plc, the London-listed parent that was called GVC Holdings until December 2020. Entain is the group; LC International is the specific entity that holds the UK online licence and runs the brands.

Has LC International Limited been penalised by the regulator?

Yes. In August 2022 the Gambling Commission agreed a settlement in which 14 million pounds related to social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures at LC International's online business, part of a 17 million pound total for Entain. It came with extra licence conditions and an independent compliance audit.
